This is the first time I have seen this site. Thank you so much for the hard work that I know you have put into this. So saddened by the number of classmates we have lost.

Many sincere 'cheers and thankyous' to Richard and Julie Lawson, and all the Committee, for the 55th Class of '58 Reunion gatherings and activities over the past few days. It was heartwarming and fun to see friends from school and catch up on our lives.
Can it really be 1/2 a century since we were united in educational pursuits, dating events, sports enthusiasm, music of the 50's and all those other cherished memories of our school days as "Teddies"?
Hopefully, we can remain connected through this really fabulous RHS website. It is a gem to be appreciated for a long time to come. Best wishes to all of us for continued good health and happy days ahead.

Dear Friends and Family. Please consider donating to the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis to support our father, Col. Jon K. Rider, USMC (ret.). Dad is currently in the latter stages of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a disease that has no cure; it is a death sentence with no percentage of recovery. CPF is an organization that promotes research, education, and support for people suffering from this INCURABLE disease. The Rider Kids are running the 35th Annual Marine Corps Marathon on October 31, 2010 in order to raise money for CPF and increase awareness of the disease. The plan (at least according to one of us) is to continue to run the MCM annually until a cure is found. Since we are all circling our 40’s, we (along with Jon/Dad) are hoping that through your generosity, a cure will be found soon!!! This is our second push for donations. We have 12 weeks left of training, and we are almost halfway to our goal of $10,000! Wow! Thank you so much to all of you who have already donated. So this is the deal for the rest of you who haven’t yet decided to give……we train for 6 months then run 26.2 miles and all you have to do is log on to your computer and donate a little money. Pretty good deal for you, right? The donation website is: http://www.firstgiving.com/jonkrider. For those of you who feel more comfortable sending a check (made out to CPF) can send you donation to: Rider Family 2503 Arlington Blvd. #102B Arlington, VA 22201-1318 Another way we can help find a cure for PF is to write our members of Congress and ask them to support H.R. 1079 (The Pulmonary Research Enhancement Act). I will be going to Capitol Hill to lobby with a delegation from CPF during National Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Week (September 11-18) in an effort to gain support for this referendum. We will be having meetings with key members of Congress, encouraging them to support H. R. 1079. In addition, those of us in the delegation who have personal experience with this disease will tell our stories in order to put a personal face to this terrible affliction. We need to get as much support in the House in order for the referendum to move up to the Senate. If you would like to find out more about Jon’s personal story and read updates regarding his health, please visit our brand new website: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jonkrider. Thank you for all of your love and support and we send our love out to you and yours. Sincerely, The Rider Family

Thank you all for doing such a wonderful job, I hope we will be doing this again soon. I had such a good time it was just like being back in RHS again except we were all just a littel bit older, but just as much fun.

Rich, Julie, John, and all others who worked so hard to put together the best reunion in the history of the world, THANK YOU!
There were so many magical moments when we all seemed to be reading from the same script about how grateful we are for having lived in America in such grand old times, having such wonderful friends and a really great school with very special teachers. The feeling of gratitude for all this was overwhelming. It was a joy to be a part of that.
To all my classmates, 'til we meet again, GODSPEED!

Thank you all, to the people that worked so hard and did so much putting together the 50th year Roosevelt high School reunion.I can’t imagine it coming together any more perfect then it did. It was truly a priceless pleasure seeing so many old friends.I can’t say I remembered everybody I saw and I know, from the strange looks I saw on some people’s faces, that they couldn’t quite remember me either (you have to laugh). I know when I say “Thank You” (which is totally inadequate for all the hard work and extra efforts), that I speak for all of those who attended, for the pleasurable evening you brought to the class of ’58.
